THIS CLAY LOOKS BEST WITH OPAQUE LIGHTER SHADE GLAZES WHERE THE SPECKS CAN BE SEEN EASILY. THE SPECKS CAN BE OUTSTANDING OR SUBTLE. IT JUST DEPENDS ON THE GLAZE YOU CHOOSE.

**We recommend bisque firing SLOW speed between cone 06 and cone 04 and always SLOW speed glaze firing.

A nice super smooth, plastic body that fires a dark chocolate brown at cones 5-6. Matures cone 5-6. Won't bloat at soft cone 7 if fired slow through the last 300-400F. Contains no grog. Gives nice warmth to glazes, giving that reduction look to them in oxidation.

*Kentucky Mudworks tests with Super Clear glaze gave us little to no bubbles or green tint to the clear glaze.

Contains less than 2% Manganese.

Kota Porcelain Cone 5-6 is Kentucky Mudwork's newest cone 6 very translucent, bright white Porcelain. It is sister to their beloved White Lightning, however it is more forgiving and trimmable. It is also translucent but a little less so than WL. Your glazes will really pop on this friendly, easy-to-throw and trim, creamy clay.

Excellent for large plates and platters as well.

This clay throws exceedingly well for a translucent porcelain. Fine grained, tight and glassy at cone 6. Fits KyMud Super Clear glaze with no crazing! If you are looking for a more forgiving porcelain try Kota.

Ranger is possibly the best all-around throwing clay. It is also a true range clay, hence its name, in that it has acceptable vitrification at cone 6 and also performs extremely well as a cone 10 reduction body. Contains some fine grog and sand.
